Martial - Arts a fitness technique
#1
Mixed Martial Arts is a full contact combat sport that allows for a wide variety of fighting techniques, from a mixture of martial arts traditions and non-traditions, to be used in competitions.

Unlike other martial arts which have their basis in either striking techniques such as kicks and punches - or grappling techniques such as clinch holds, pinning holds, submission holds, sweeps, takedowns and throws - MMA combines various aspects of fighting together for a more effective approach.

• Improve overall fitness & well being - Besides the fact that training in MMA can pose a new challenge to one’s body as it is different from the usual run of the mill workouts, owing to the sheer physical demand of the sport MMA practitioners develop high levels of cardiovascular and muscular endurance, flexibility, agility and stamina.

• Learn self defence techniques - MMA is as close as it gets to an actual street fight scenario. Training in various styles of fighting in this format makes one capable of effectively defending oneself against a stronger opponent.

• Become a professional MMA fighter - MMA is one of the most lucrative sports in the world of professional fighting, with exponents in this field now competing for large organisations like Ultimate Fighting Championships, Strike force, K1 etc.
